Updates - Phase 2~

Day 21: 11th Nov 2015
Painter is here to fix the wall paints and door frames. Window installer suppose to fix the leaking water issue. Instead of pumping materials into the window frame, they drilled a hole into the window frame that is outdoors, to supposedly let water out. This is the supposed simpler method. I'm skeptical.

Day 22: 12th Nov 2015
Floor is done and very pretty~ More discovery that the walls are really almost all done slanted by the HDB contractor.. simi sai lai really.
AND. Water is still leaking.

So slanted... tsk.. the empty parts will be filled with silicon

This transition piece b/w my peranakan tiles and vinyl tiles also gave me problems. I didn't want that piece, contractor said to lay peranakan tiles first, my vinyl will lay smoothly one blah blah. Now vinyl person came and say there's a slight difference in height if just lay the vinyl there, so might kick the vinyl... Thus the need for the transition piece.. On top of that, once i put that piece there, the door cannot open fully. The vinyl guy wanted to charge me $100 for trimming my door to accomodate that thing... TSK. I whined to my contractor asking her how how how?? Then she settle for me saying she will trim for me instead, no need the vinyl people to do it...
So conclusion, if you feel certain things need to be dealt with logically ie lay vinyl first then lay homogeneous tiles, then stick to your guns rather than get confused by your ID/contractor to accommodate their workers/sub-con's time.

Day 27: 17 Nov 2015
Main door will be trimmed, window frames to be fixed once and for all (cross my fingers) and carpentry will be up! Ooh can't wait to see it~

TV console is huge!!

Haven't flush the recess wall yet

My pretty kitchen. On the other hand, there's really limited cabinet space.. :( sians...

Kitchen island~

This is the unexpected.. shock? MBR wardrobe is surprisingly small, and platform is surprisingly huge, and mbr looks shockingly narrow le...

Common bathroom's vanity, those little drawers look puny...

MBR bathroom, mirror frame looks thicker than expected but otherwise quite alright with the feel.

Day 28-29: 18-19 Nov 2015
Touching up

Day 31: 21 Nov 2015
Meet with Contractor E for 3rd payment. Inspected the carpentry and realised some of it is not ideal. Like the drawers ledge in the toilets and wardrobes are face downwards, so need to bend down more to open drawer. Carpenter blah blah blah, but will still get them to rectify.

Day 33: 23 Nov 2015
Bedroom doors are installed~ so nice and smooth until i'm a little hesitant to paint it.. we will see.
Aircons installed too! Ah Boon is really an effective one man show sia.. Super impressed.
Lastly complained to HDB about the window frames accumulating water which might cause aedes mosquitoes to breed. They responded rather fast by coming over today. The main con for the project came with a scowl on his face, gave plenty of reasons why it's our window contractors + hacking wall workers fault. End of the day, we just get them to seal up the frame area to prevent further accumulation. I can't say i won't ganna from my neighbours in future though.. :\

Day 34: 24 Nov 2015
Taobao loots from Peeka finally here!! All my lights look humongous~ but otherwise good condition sia~

Day 37: 27 Nov 2015
Lights and fans are all up! Some switches are not available yet but majority of them looks good~

Main Door entrance:

Bomb Shelter:

Living room:

Kitchen:

Dining area fan + MBR entrance/corridor light:

Common toilet:

MBR:

Day 38: 28 Nov 2015
Plumber is here to measure and install some of the toilet stuffs, will finish up on Monday.
Kompacplus is here to install the countertop! I'm so glad i choose this top~

Very sneak peek:

Day 39: 29 Nov 2015
Found a hole that's been patched back above the tv console... Contractor E says that it's to accomodate the wiring blah blah but yeah basically in simple terms, they forgot to do it prior to flushing the recess wall, thus a hole.. will be patched nicely back.. tsk.. chill man~
Data guy came to do up my conversion of telephone lines to data lines~

Apa sia:

Telephone-turned-data, let there be internet! 'Cept i have no ISP subscribed yet.. lol:

Day 40: 30 Nov 2015
Plumber finished installing sinks and taps, so i have water in the house now!! FINALLY can wash hands in toilet and kitchen rather than using the pipe in the service yard!

My precious... white Blanco tap! Chio la~

Day 41: 1 Dec 2015
Toilet doors are installed~ They are so chio, i can't even..~ :D
Electrician done for day today but they still need to come back to do some touch up.
All debris has been removed.. mostly.
Also noticed something majorly wrong with the blardy water pipe just installed from the city gas heater..

Common toilet swing door with 8 panel lattice, haven't remove the sticky things on the panels:

MBR toilet bifold door without bottom track, 8 panel lattice as well:

Silver colored pipes below are the water pipes. So what is wrong with it? Firstly, the way it's being run is damn ugly, secondly, i didn't know it was going to be installed, probably on Monday when the plumber was there. Thirdly and most importantly, WHERE AM I GOING TO PLACE MY DRYER HUH?? I already informed the contractor and the citygas people that the dryer will be installed below the heater, but with this placement, tell me how huh?? My contractor still happily told me that i can install it above the water pipes, she can move the hook for the clothes dryer pulley string further up to accommodate. BUT, wouldn't my dryer be higher than the window grill area liao??  Then she said the plumber said if pipe goes up the ceiling, it will be ugly. I'm like, is this not ugly?? How ugly can it get right??
Then they suggested running the pipe downwards exposed below the heater, and then the horizontal part to be concealed inside the wall... It sounds like it's for the benefit of looking good la, but seriously it's just fishy right? Why can't it run upwards and get it over and done with? Why insist on making more hassle leh?? If anything goes wrong with the pipe, i will need to hack the wall to fix it too. Also that wall is not supposed to be hacked, it's a reinforced wall. Not sure how it works, but still is my excuse to reject that idea.
In the end, she said she can't run it upwards cuz HDB only opened the hole big enough for one pipe, not enough for two. Weird, below she can hack the wall, above she can't. Anyways she will just run it downwards, then through to the wall to the common bathroom's vanity cabinet and run inside. Whatever. I just need space for my dryer.. why so 麻烦 one huh??

Electrician also didn't remember to encase this socket, tsk. So coming down again on Saturday to finish the job:

Day 42: 2 Dec 2015
Touching up for the painting.. Pray that nothing goes wrong... I can't go down today to survey them... :(

Day 43: 3 Dec 2015
ACID WASH!
Means finalizing soon!

Day 45: 5 Dec 2015
Carpentry touching up

To be continued....
